In my last post, I mentioned that I’d digitised my wardrobe using the Whering app. I decided to use their ‘Dress Me’ feature to come up with some new outfits. This morning I tried all the combinations to see what they looked like in real life versus the app.
Outfit #1

I didn’t even take a photo of the original outfit (sorry!) as I just don’t think this faux leather jacket is for me anymore. It’s funny because I think it’s too fitted but the reason I bought this one is because the first one I ever owned was also too fitted and cropped. Maybe in the future, I’ll consider getting a newer more oversized one but I haven’t reached for it in the 5 months I’ve been tracking CPW. That in itself says everything I need to know about my attachment to this jacket now.

Replacing the leather jacket with this shearling jacket made the outfit feel much more me. I also forgot to use the bag I saved in the flatlay but you get the vibe. This adapted outfit gets a yes from me.
Outfit #2
During 2020, I was completely influenced by Emily to purchase these trousers from Topshop. They are an unusual colour that I can’t put my finger on - are they blue or grey or a weird mix? Anyway, I really like them as they’re very comfortable but find it quite hard to pair things with them.

The excitement of this new combination has meant I’ve already worn this to work. Maybe I can replicate this outfit with my other jumpers and get more use out of these trousers? Will get back to you on that.
Outfit #3
These jeans were a relatively recent purchase from Zara for me but I’ve already worn them 24 times (£1.50 CPW).

The outcome of this outfit is very casual but is perfect for a trip to town or weekend exploring. As it is currently Winter, I would layer this up with a scarf and let’s be honest, another coat.
Outfit #4
You might think that the blazer in this outfit is navy but it’s actually black (bad lighting whilst uploading to Whering). I will 100% admit that these sandals were an impulse purchase a few years ago from M&S after seeing them in Vogue as a dupe for The Row Fisherman sandals. The sandals do need to be worn a lot more going by my CPW spreadsheet so it’s good to get some inspiration.

I tried on the Arket tank that I’d saved in the outfit on Whering but decided I’d like something thicker so opted for this New Look knit vest instead. It’s a very Summer-appropriate look and I’ll be referring back to this when it’s much warmer.
Outfit #5
When I went home to Aberdeen for Christmas, I completely overpacked and also bought some new clothes in the Zara there. This meant I couldn’t pack everything in my suitcase that I’d originally brought with me. So, my faux leather trousers were replaced in this look by the Zara washed black jeans I had on in outfit #3.

This outfit is cute but looking at this photo now, I’m not sure if this cord shirt is for me anymore. I think it might be too pale a colour for me. I love the rest of the outfit though and maybe I can try swapping out this shirt for one of my other shirts.
I needed some clothing inspiration as I’m doing No Buy January so this was a good experiment in ways to mix up my outfit formulas.
If you had a favourite outfit, I’d love to know which one in the comments!
Thanks for reading,
Lily
Okay this is so cool. I need to give the app a try!!
Love this format of seeing the app flat lay to reality! These outfits all look great too!
