As you may have noticed from the lack of emails in your inbox, I took a little break from posting over December. It has been a very busy month with festive plans but I’m looking forward to posting more in 2024 - albeit maybe with a less strict posting schedule…
I read a post on
by Anna this morning and she had done a review of her wardrobe usage and I thought I’d do the same to round off 2023. As you probably all know by now, I’ve been tracking my cost per wear (CPW) since the 12th of August this year so it isn’t fully representative of all seasons.Below are my most worn items since I started tracking in reverse order. They’re probably not a shock to you!
Most Worn Items of 2023
#10 Weekday White Mock Neck Top - worn 20 times - £0.72 CPW
#9 Primark Grey Crew Neck Jumper - worn 21 times - £0.29 CPW
#8 Zara Washed Black Straight Leg Jeans - worn 22 times - £1.64 CPW
#7 M&S Black Chunky Boots - worn 23 times - £1.96 CPW
#6 Uniqlo Black Oversized Raincoat - worn 24 times - £3.33 CPW
#5 Weekday Rowe Jeans in Pool Blue - worn 24 times - £0.87 CPW
#4 Pull & Bear White & Black Trainers - worn 26 times - £1.38 CPW
#3 M&S Black Reversible Shearling Jacket - worn 28 times - £1.96 CPW
#2 Rains Purple Backpack - worn 49 times - £0.00 CPW as gifted to me in 2018
#1 Adidas Green Gazelle Trainers - worn 52 times - £1.63 CPW
Interestingly, a few of these items are ones I have bought since I started tracking CPW, including the Gazelles, the Reversible M&S jacket and the straight leg Zara jeans. It seems that a lot of my most worn items are quite basic but they all work together.

I love that I’ve worn the Uniqlo raincoat so many times. I bought this as I have a proper Berghaus raincoat that is bright purple from my Duke of Edinburgh days which is very effective at it’s job but I did feel like I was going on a hike every time I wore it. I’m pleased to have found a raincoat that I actually enjoy wearing.
Another purchase I’m pleased I’ve worn so much is my Adidas Gazelle trainers. I thought about these for months as they were expensive at £85 but it seems it was well-worth it. Plus, it also tells me that if I decide to buy a pair of more expensive trainers in the future, I’ll most likely wear them a lot.
To finish off this post, I thought I’d add my top 5 outfits of the year in no particular order. I had a lot of favourite looks but these ones made me feel extra special.
Lastly I just wanted to say thanks for subscribing to ‘Does This Look Weird?’ this year. I really appreciate everyone who has subscribed, read, liked and commented on my posts. When I wrote my first Substack post back in September I said to my boyfriend Simon that I wasn’t going to share it anywhere. However, I decided I should as I’d put some time and effort in to it. Everyone has been so supportive and it’s just made it so much less scary to publish a new post, so thank you!!!
Lots of Love,
Lily
Thank you so much for the mention! Loved reading your round-up xx
